When you visit you can read all about how Shutterstock operate. You are paid 25 cents per download from someone else. ShutterStock is one of the harder photo agencies to get into. Unlike most places, you have to submit your 10 best photos and 7 have to be accepted before you are allowed to sell anything. Make sure the photos you submit are very high quality and sellable. After looking it over then sign up at ShutterStock and enter the information that they ask for. You can also select the way you want to get paid. If you want to be paid and have your money immediately then I recommend Paypal. You can also have checks sent which will take longer. They will send you a confirmation link in your e-mail which you need to activate. Be sure to bookmark this site and come back after you sign up to learn about keywords, titles, model releases etc. Submitting Photos to Shutterstock There are a number of ways to submit your photos to shutterstock. You can submit via FTP, HTTP, or ActiveX. FTP This submitting method is great if you’re submitting multiple images at a time. Rather than submit directly from the website you use a client such as FileZilla. After downloading FileZilla you simply connect to the FTP client which for shutterstock is ftp.shutterstock.com After you are connecting login with the e-mail and password that you use for shutterstock. When you’re connected simply drag your photos in and it’ll upload them into your Shutterstock account for you to fill in the other information necessary. HTTP This method is quick and efficient if you are submitting 10 or less photos. After clicking submit at Shutterstock you then click “http” tab. |
