The rule of thirds is a simple rule to follow and can make normal photos much more interesting.I follow the rule of thirds not only when I take my stock photos but also when I shoot normal family photos. Rather than placing the subject in the center of the screen I place them on the right or left.
The rule of thirds is based on dividing a picture up into three sections vertically and horizontally.
This results in three rows and three columns. The basic idea is to try to place the subject of interest on the left or right row or the top or bottom column rather than simply in the middle like most people do.
